Meeting of the Waters Tour

Regular
river excursion, leaving the Tropical Hotel Manaus Pier, at 09:00 a.m.

The tour begins navigating downstream the Rio Negro and observing the Ponta Negra Park (a very interesting city attraction, which offers restaurants, bars, amphitheater, sporting areas and large sidewalks), the Floating Port, the old Customs House, the "Adolpho Lisboa" Municipal Market, the Port of the Natives (Ribeirinhos) and the Educandos creek, as well as some important local industries and other relevant aspects of the activities developed on the river banks of Manaus.

Visit to the "Meeting of the Waters" (Encontro das Águas), where the muddy waters of the Solimões River run side by side with the dark ones of the Rio Negro for about 18 km without mixing. The phenomenon occurs due to temperature, density and speed differences between these two rivers.

Trip to Janauari Lake (Lago Janauari), a tributary of the Negro River.

Lunch included (fish and chicken dishes).

Afternoon canoe trip through the jungle, its creeks and flooded forests with their exotic fauna and flora, including the famous Victoria-Régia (Water Lilly), an aquatic plant which reaches up to two meters of circumference, with borders of 10 cm high.

During the trip, visitors will experience the natives' way of living, their habits and customs.

Return to Manaus, going upstream the Negro River, arriving at the Tropical Hotel Manaus Pier at 5 p.m., approximately.

Remark: during the low-water season the observation of the "igapós" is not possible.
